Hallelujah--Some Answers!

Well, it sounds like the appearing-in-military-uniform thing worked! Ted just called and said that everyone in the lawyer's office was very friendly and helpful. The 3-day notice we received was a preliminary to a five-day eviction process (or something like that--I don't understand all this), but the bottom line is, if we can be out by Monday, which was our plan anyway, then absolutely nothing happens to us. So, that leaves us 3 more days to finish packing and the weekend to actually move the stuff.

I asked how things went at Dillon's office (the agent who will be selling the house who has been so rude to us), and Ted said his eyes kind of widened when he saw Ted, and "all the bluster and rudeness" was gone!

Seems like we've fallen on hard times to call it "good news" that we "get" to move out by October 8th, but compared to having to be out of here tomorrow, it is indeed a relief. Maybe I'll actually sleep tonight...

I am so glad you finally got some answers. It is sad though that Ted had to be in uniform to get those answers. Best of luck with everything you have to do this week we are praying for all of you and sending you energy to get you through.

I know this whole experience has to be immensely frustrating, but that was a good chuckle amidst the rest of the craziness. It's too bad he had to go in uniform, but at least it worked.

SO glad you're getting answers and some respect! Maybe this will hlep them understand they shouldn't assume the worst when people are going through these kids of situations.

LOL, way to pull out the trump card! I agree that it really is too bad that that was needed. Good grief! Where is common professional courtesy?! Not in Vegas, I guess! This has really turned into quite an ordeal! Hopefully the end is in sight. I'm thinking Las Vegas is off the retirement list, LOL.

*chuckle* Yes, Claire, if we ever see Las Vegas after we PCS it will be too soon! Seriously, we are thankful for a great church family...that seems like the only blessing of being here right now, though truly there are more, I know!
